Samsung took the stage during its press conference in Berlin for the IFA trade show on Wednesday to unveil its latest Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. The device is an upgrade over last year’s model and carries the same name, though is the 2014 edition.

It’s equipped with a 10.1-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution, a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and Samsung’s S Pen. Samsung says it built the device to have a “sleek, light, slim frame that is both fashionable and portable.” It uses what Samsung is calling a “magazine style UX” for easily customizing the main home screen with videos, magazines, eBooks and more. It also offers enhanced Multi Window support for running multiple applications at once, and a Pen Window for creating a smaller version of an application on the screen, such as YouTube or a calculator. Like the Note 3, it has a Scrapbook option that lets you save certain parts of Web sites, pictures, text and more for accessing and searching through later. Samsung also established partnerships with The New York TimesBloomberg and more to deliver content on the device.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 will launch in three models, including one with just Wi-Fi, another with Wi-Fi and 3G, and third with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. Each will launch in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB capacities with support for adding a microSD card. The tablet will launch during the third quarter of this year around the globe.
